WEEK 3 OF TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2.

DAY 7, 3/1/25

Today is the seventh day and the first day of the day training in this year 2025. We were all excited for the new beginning. I signed the register and came by 9:30 a.m.

I was scheduled with the fourth period at the 8th sea and I started taking the lesson biotic and abiotic factors this was a very simple topic everyone was familiar with the topic already. So it was easy to presented the topic to the class.

In the afternoon I got some substitution duties in the fifth and 6th standards. I asked you them to read there Biology or basic science text to thoroughly, and by 4:30 p.m. I left the school by signing the register from the hm room and left the school campus.

Day 8, 5/1/25

Today is it day of the teaching practice.

I reach the school at 9:30 a.m. and signed in the register.

And I got the substitution duties and went to the classes of 5 th C for the class.  I had substitution for 7th class also.

Afternoon I got class for the 8th c, where I could complete the lesson ecology. The class went very smoothly because they already had a basic idea on ecology ecologist and ecosystem.

By 4:30 p.m. I sign in the register and left the school premises.

DAY 9, 7/1/25

Today was the 9th day of my teaching practice, and it was also an observation day. Our Natural Science teacher, Smt. Alli Anirudhan, visited the school to observe my class on the topic of the food chain. I used various teaching aids like ICT videos, images, and charts to explain the concept effectively. After the class, she provided her feedback in our notebooks and left. Later, I took another session for the 8th standard on food web and trophic levels, further expanding on the topic. The day ended at 4:30 PM, marking another valuable learning experience in my teaching practice.

DAY 10, 8/1/25,

Today was the 10th day of my teaching practice, held on January 8, 2025. I reached the school at 9 a.m. and took up discipline duties to check students' uniforms and behavior. After signing the register at 9:30 a.m., I received substitution duties for the 7th and 9th standards. In my scheduled period for the 8th standard, I taught predation, mutualism, and competition using different models of teaching. Since mutualism and predation are contrasting concepts, I used the Inductive Thinking Model to explain them, while competition was taught using the Concept Attainment Model to help students differentiate between the concepts. The class was interactive, and the students responded well. By 4:30 p.m., I signed out and left the school, feeling satisfied with the day's lessons.

DAY 11, 9/1/25,

Today was the 11th day of my teaching practice.

I reached the school at 9:30 a.m., signed in the register, and attended my substitution duties. I had to take classes for 5th C and later for 7th class as part of the substitution schedule.

In the afternoon, I conducted a lesson on parasitism for 8th C using the Concept Attainment Model. I began by presenting examples of different relationships in nature, allowing students to identify common patterns. Through a yes/no classification activity, students gradually arrived at the concept of parasitism. After revealing the topic, I explained its definition and key characteristics using ICT slides and examples. The class proceeded smoothly, as students actively engaged in identifying parasitic relationships and differentiating them from other ecological interactions.

By 4:30 p.m., I signed out in the register and left the school premises.

DAY 12, 10/1/25,

Today was the 12th day of my teaching practice.

I reached the school at 9:00 a.m., signed in the register, and attended my substitution duties. I had to take classes for 5th C and later for 7th class as part of the substitution schedule.

In the afternoon, I conducted a lesson on commensalism for 8th C. I began by presenting examples of different relationships in nature, allowing students to identify common patterns. Through a yes/no classification activity, students gradually arrived at the concept of commensalism. After revealing the topic, I explained its definition and key characteristics using ICT slides and examples. The class proceeded smoothly, as students actively engaged in identifying commensal relationships and differentiating them from other ecological interactions.

By 4:30 p.m., I signed out in the register and left the school premises.
