WEEK 4 OF TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1 (DAY 17-20)

DAY 17, 7/10/2024

Today marked the 17th day of my teaching practice, dated October 7, 2024. Since I didn’t have any scheduled periods for 8th standard, most of my day was dedicated to substitution duties. I reached the school at 9:10 a.m. and took up my discipline duty, checking the uniforms of the students entering the school. Afterward, I signed the attendance register and prepared for the day.

I was assigned substitution duties in various classes, including 5B, 7C, 6D, 9E, and 9F, which I managed throughout the day. Following the completion of the 5th class, I signed off the register and left the school at 4:30 p.m. The day was fairly routine with no major events, but I made sure to engage the students during my substitution periods.

DAY 18,8/10/24

Today, being the 18th day of my teaching practice, was quite different as there was a school inspection by the DEO. Most of the teachers were occupied with the inspection process, so we didn’t receive many substitution duties or scheduled periods. Due to this, I couldn’t proceed with my lesson plans as planned. It was a relatively free day with minimal teaching responsibilities. I completed my tasks and left the school after signing the register at 4:00 p.m.

DAY 19, 9/10/2024

Today, I arrived at school at 9:30 a.m., signed the register, and was assigned substitution duties for the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th standard classes. I was glad to get a period with 8th C, where I completed the lesson on pest control methods, including modern technology and biological methods. I showed engaging videos and conducted an activity chart that the students found both entertaining and educational. After finishing my duties, I signed out and left the school by 4:30 p.m.

DAY 20, 10/10/2024

Today, I arrived at the school by 9:00 a.m. and began my discipline duty. I had the opportunity to teach two periods in 8C, which allowed me to cover two important lessons: Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Waste Management for Sustainable Agriculture. Both lessons were crucial for helping students understand sustainable practices in agriculture.

The students were engaged during both lessons, especially during the discussion on IPM and the various methods to control pests using natural and mechanical solutions. The class on waste management helped reinforce the importance of sustainable agricultural practices, and the students actively participated in the discussions and activities.

In addition to my scheduled periods, I had substitution duties in 5A and 6C. Overall, it was a productive day, and I felt satisfied with how the lessons unfolded. I left the school after completing my duties at 4:30 p.m.
