DAY 9 OF TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1, 24/9/2024

Day Reflection: September 24, 2024 (9th Day of Teaching Practice)

On September 24, 2024, which was a Tuesday, I arrived at the school earlier than usual, by 9:00 a.m., as I had discipline duty that morning. My responsibility was to check the students' nails, uniforms, ID cards, and ribbons as they entered the school. After completing this task, I signed in the attendance register at the HM's room and then proceeded to the substitution book to check the classes assigned to me for the day.

In the morning session, I had substitution duties for 6th, 7th, and 8th standards. My first official lesson class was scheduled for 8th C, and I was excited to begin. The topic I introduced was "Food Scarcity," and this was the first day I taught according to my lesson plan. The students were highly cooperative and showed curiosity as they listened attentively. They actively participated by answering my questions, which made the session engaging.

However, midway through the lesson, a teacher came in to distribute the students' answer sheets from the recent examination. Respecting this, I paused the lesson and informed the students that we would continue the topic the following day.

In the afternoon session, I again had substitution duties for 6th and 7th standards. For the 7th standard, I taught a basic science class, and the students were attentive and eager to learn. I showed them some educational videos related to their topics, which captivated their attention and helped reinforce the concepts I discussed.

After completing the 7th period, I signed out in the register and left the school by 4:00 p.m. Overall, it was a productive day, and I felt satisfied with my first teaching experience, despite the interruption. I look forward to continuing the lesson in the upcoming classes.
