DAY 10 OF TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1, 25/9/24
Day Reflection: September 25, 2024 (10th Day of Teaching Practice)
Today marked the 10th day of our teaching practice. I reached NRPMHS Kayamkulam at 9:30 a.m., and by 10:00 a.m., the morning assembly and prayer had concluded, with students settling into their classes. After signing the attendance register, I checked the substitution schedule and was allotted the first two periods for 8th C.
I took this opportunity to continue the lesson I had started the previous day on the topic of "Food Scarcity." I began by reviewing the previous class, and the students were able to recall and respond well, which indicated they had understood the introduction. From there, I moved on to the presentation and activities related to the topic. The students were highly engaged and actively participated in the activities, answering questions and taking notes diligently. They worked on charts and group activities, which helped deepen their understanding of the concept. Toward the end of the lesson, I introduced the topic of "Food Security," and the students responded well to the new content.
I gave them a follow-up activity, asking them to complete their notes before the next class, which kept the momentum of learning strong. After this productive session, I left the class feeling satisfied with how the lesson had gone.
The rest of the day involved substitution duties for 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th standards. For the 6th standard, I showed them educational videos related to their topics, which they found engaging. For the 7th standard, I taught a chapter from their basic science textbook, and for the 9th standard, I asked them to read from their textbook while I explained key points.
Overall, it was a very fulfilling day as I managed to complete two lesson plans successfully. The students were cooperative, and I was pleased with the outcome of my classes. I signed out by 4:00 p.m., reflecting on the day's progress and feeling content with the teaching experience.
